Now two years later, the 87 year old Pope Emeritus lives in a former Vatican Monastery, where he dedicates most of his time to prayer. 

It was two years ago that Benedict XVI surprised the world. The morning of February 11, 2013, he announced he was stepping down from the Papacy. Shocked Cardinals looked on, as Benedict XVI made the announcement in Latin. 

Now two years later, the 87 year old Pope Emeritus lives in a former Vatican Monastery, where he dedicates most of his time to prayer.
